when spring blooms it signifies new beginnings, a fresh start, a visible and significant change, the feeling that anything is possible. the warm sun and little flower buds make you want to hold onto everything, and fully feel every moment squeezing the last drop out of every opportunity, so you can feel it wilt in your hands, and know you've not wasted a single second.

Casual Weekend
This was my outfit of the day last Saturday, and I will probably be wearing something similar this weekend. Weekends to me = casual, comfy, and low-maintenance. This means sneaks, a basic tee, comfy jeans, a beanie or hat, and zero make up. Plus, you never know what adventures you may be having. In this outfit I ended up walking over 7 miles that day! It started as brunch with some girlfriends, meeting Kyle in Central Park, walking across from the west side to the east side, and then back up to Harlem for Fast and Furious 7 (this movie...in one word? EPIC!). I absolutely LOVE weekends in the city. They are full of possibilities, exploring new places, eating good food, and hopefully relaxing at a park as well. The weather this Saturday looks a lot like it was last weekend - sunny with a high of 75 - so I plan to be spending the majority of it outside!

Easter Sunday Lunch
The hardest part about living so far from home is when the holidays roll around. Easter in Texas usually meant dyeing Easter eggs, going to our home church with family, and then eating a big lunch together with family and friends. Sometimes confetti eggs were involved too! Although we missed being with family for Easter this year, we still celebrated in a somewhat Texas style. Kyle and I woke up early and went to church, and then made an Easter lunch feast for four. I made my first brisket (sooo good), Kyle made roasted garlic asparagus, and we had baked potatoes with all the fixings! We invited a couple of our friends from church and I was able to finally use nice napkins from our wedding gifts :). As our tiny apartment only has a table that technically seats two, we dragged our desk chair out, and then Kyle sat on boxes as the fourth chair. Haha! The weather was especially beautiful yesterday, so we opened the windows and shared Easter lunch together. How did you celebrate Easter this year?
1 John 4:9-10, "God showed how much he loved us by sending his one and only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him. This is real love—not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins."
