Well hello there! Thanks for stopping by!

about me

I come from a small town in central Texas and grew up with two younger siblings, donkeys, goats, chickens, ducks, a pig, and three yellow labs. I spent a lot of my younger years outside building forts, reading a lot of books, and making mixtapes for my friends.

When I was 16 I started dating a redhead named Kyle. Five years later, we got married and after I finished my last semester of college, moved on a whim to NYC. For the next nearly three years, we lived out our dream of living in a big city in a different part of the country, and explored all that New York had to offer. We lived in a tiny closet in Harlem and loved every minute of it (well, the majority of the time!). Life there definitely wasn’t what you see in the movies or TV shows but in a lot of ways it was so much better than that.

After awhile we missed our families and at this point had come to really appreciate all that is the great state of Texas. We now live in sunny San Antonio, TX with our two pups! The most important thing about us is that we love Jesus and are saved by faith and grace in Him alone (1 John 4:9-10).

about the blog

This blog was born out of a desire to put some creativity back into my life after beginning working in the corporate world in NYC. Here I share what inspires and drives me, which includes my cooking and food adventures as well as travel and life updates.

I try to eat fairly healthy but also love (sometimes) to bake so there is a good balance of what you will find here. My recipes are inspired by the seasons, my Filipino background, life in Texas, and my travels around the world. Hope you enjoy and that we can be friends!
