This past Sunday was absolutely gorgeous as the sun was out, it was in the high 30's, and there was a fresh pile of soft wet snow on the ground. We walked about a mile through the park, shuffling in our heavy snow boots through the slush, and trying to get as close as we could to the many geese whom we thought of as our little friends. Although the ground was cold and wet, the sun was warm. After our noses and cheeks became red and our hands felt like icicles we stopped at a cafe for cider and tea, grinning and smiling because sometimes, winter can be pretty after all. shirt - express // necklace - vintage // blanket cardigan - anthropologie; available in gray here // jeans - marshalls (old); I like these // bag - urbanoutfitters; in another post here as reversed side // snow boots - sorel

Outfit Basics: Gray + White
outfit details: silence + noise button down - urban outfitters // BDG twig high-rise jean in gray - urban outfitters, similar in black here // pink ballet flats - urban outfitters I am really liking simple and basic pieces that are casual and comfy. Currently I am really loving gray and white as a color combo, with a little bit of pale pink. This outfit can be dressed up more with added jewelry, a scarf, or even layered with a bright sweater. I kept it basic because well, I'm a pretty basic gal. (Not really...I'm quite complicated.)
I got this whole outfit from urban outfitters for $50. Unfortunately the jeans have already sold out, and I also noticed that their online prices are higher than what I bought in store. Nevertheless...everything is still mostly on sale! The pink ballet flats were also featured in a previous post, here.
Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and stays warm!
P.S...I finally got a Twitter! Please check me out here as I have no idea what I am doing yet ; )
An Ode to New Shoes
Happy Friday! I hope everyone has fun weekend plans, whether or not you are a fan of Valentine's Day or not. I went to urban outfitters recently and came away with gray skinny jeans, (yet another) white button down, and the most adorable, soft pink, comfy flats, which look like ballet shoes when I slip them on. They are oh-so-girly and perfect and remind me of toddler days doing ballet classes. Also, I paid only $10 for them (although online it's listed for $20) and they are still currently on sale here! I think they are perfect for valentine's this weekend if you prefer flats to heels.
With high temps of 15 degrees this weekend I may be caught wearing these with fleece-lined tights, a wool skirt, and tons of layers.
