NYC

the best weekend outfit for a day in the city

Note: Not the best wear for the impending blizzard approaching New York City...When I wore this yesterday, it was sunny and 45 degrees. Today we are waiting for what will supposedly be one of the biggest snow-blizzards of all time!! I never liked wearing tennis shoes (or sneakers as they say here) for anything other than working out before I moved to New York. But now that I live here, all I want to wear are the most comfy shoes I can find for all the walking we do here. When picking what to wear for a Saturday or Sunday, I try to wear something that is both comfortable + stylish. Black leggings, comfy sneakers, a loose tee, and a leather jacket or over-sized sweater are my go-to pieces to wear. They allow me to easily stay out all day and comfortably enjoy any of the days activities--walking everywhere, running to catch the train, strolling in the park, or eating brunch at a cafe. :)

a peek into our home

Its been 3 weeks in our new apartment, and things are slowly coming together.  Although a lot smaller than our last place, it is cozy and homey and we LOVE the location! We had to get rid of a lot of stuff when we moved, including our bookshelves.  We have a lot of books...and so they are currently residing on the floor in various corners around the place. And, I actually kind of like it!! It makes finding a book a little difficult but hey, I like the challenge. :) We also have not set up our canopy bed yet, so the mattress remains on the box spring on the floor...and I kind of secretly hope we never set it up. :) Some pictures below from our new place:
