It still amazes me that you can hop on a train in Manhattan and end up at a beach in a little over an hour. As we are not planners in the least bit, we decided last-minute after church last Sunday to spend the rest of the day lounging on a beach. I also half-way decided in my mind that morning that I wanted to be vegan for a week and thought Sunday would be a good day to start. After eating a (surprisingly!) yummy lunch at a vegan place, Peacefood Cafe, we took the D train all the way from our apartment to Coney Island. Well, when at Coney Island, one must eat at Nathan's , home of the first hot dog eating contest. As a result, the vegan diet lasted about half a day. But...that chili cheese coney was SO worth it after an afternoon of swimming. ;)

March Instagram Recap
Happy first of April everyone! I am so excited for this month because it is the true beginning of my favorite season -- spring! I can't wait to see the pretty blooms all over the city and for the weather to warm up even more. March in NYC had a LOT of snow. This month was pretty great because of reasons I've already blogged about, our anniversary and my birthday! :) I have a feeling April is going to be a good month as well. Here is my monthly instagram recap featuring a few of my posts to summarize up the month! You can find me on IG here.
Park Avenue in the late afternoon. Central Park in late March when we got hit with another 3-5 inches of snow! More pics on this post. Dough doughnuts, again!! : D *drooling* Clearly, I have a problem. New favorite hat, more pictures can be seen here. Finally was able to eat brunch at Jack's Wife Freda. In addition to donuts, I love brunch. <3 If you haven't been, you should go, like now! You can book in advance at Open Table. Ended the month with beach views and a wonderful visit with my family. Miami, FL
This weekend I was able to unexpectedly go to Miami for a couple of days! It was a crazy last-minute trip because I flew standby and did not know until Friday night that I'd be leaving! I left for the airport Saturday morning around 5 AM--didn't make the the first three flights, BUT finally made the fourth flight at 11 AM! I made it to MIA that afternoon, and flew back this morning. It was a crazy roundtrip but so entirely worth it to see my family that I rarely see--especially my brother who I most likely won't see until Christmas. I was unable to bring my camera, so the iPhone was my go to for pictures. It was preeetttyy nice not having to lug my camera around, I will admit. The beach was sunny, warm, and felt so like summer. I wish I could have stayed all week. The sea has a way of making me feel so small, and also so alive and full like I'm standing on the edge of the world. Back in NYC, I'm still thinking about the salty sea breeze, warm sun, and textured sand beneath my toes.
