At this moment I'm not sure what's better: a chocolate frosted donut with sprinkles or these savory sushi donuts. My first real experiences with sushi involved late night craving runs to Naked Fish over on Texas Avenue while in college. They were the perfect study break meal, and the perfect excuse to load up on carbs before test time. It was here that Kyle (then my boyfriend) became a master sushi order-er. It may sound strange, but he is so good at ordering sushi. (It requires some skills!) Anytime we get it I always let him order everything; he gets the perfect combo of flavors, textures, and varieties!
I mean is there anything better than a man who knows what a girl wants? Well at least in the case of sushi, he knows. : )
I have a really busy week this week as I'm trying to film two videos (!!!) before we leave for NYC on Friday morning, in addition to a bunch of other things I'm working on. Don't ask me how it's going, because so far, it hasn't happened at all yet. I still need to pack for our trip and figure out what I'm going to wear. What are the kids wearing in NYC these days? I have a long list of places to eat at (and a few places to go to, mostly kitchen-related), so I'm trying to balance all the bagels and dumplings I will be eating with plenty of salads and vegetables leading up to it this week.
Sushi donuts are so much fun! While a little more difficult to eat than regular sushi rolls, they were so fun to make and came out looking so darn pretty. You could easily mix it up too, with as many different toppings or types of fish you desire. These would be especially cute on a mini donut muffin tins!
