It's the weekend! I love weekends. Today has been the ideal Saturday morning for me, so far. I woke up early, did a rowing workout, went to Whole Foods, picked up some fresh produce and pretty peonies, and all before 11 AM! I bought some gorgeous rainbow chard and then spent my subway ride home googling how best to cook them because I have no idea. Do you know what chard is? I didn't! Kyle gets home soon from work soon so maybe I will make it for lunch.
Today is beautify your block day in our neighborhood! The NYPD put up signs all week to not park on our block for today, and if it is anything like last year's, all of the tree sidewalk planters will be filled with pretty blooms! It really brightens up our block, which is great, because amidst the loud rap music and weed smells there will be these new pretty flowers lining the street. Yay!
I'm back on a bit of a Mediterranean kick again, and am currently obsessed with this za'atar and olive oil and herb spread called Zesty Z. I met the owner and founder, Alexander, and he is so passionate about his product and has such an interesting story. Make sure to check out the site and the other recipes to try! I have been spreading it on breads, drizzling on top of hummus, and even made my own pita chips out of it.
Hope you have a lovely and productive Saturday!
Za'atar Pita Chips
