Pop Tarts (Pop-tarts?) bring back a lot of nostalgic feelings. They remind me of elementary school mornings, running late, and grabbing a quick pop tart for a not so healthy version of breakfast as I run out the door. My brother and I used to freeze them also, and eat them as snacks during the week while we watched Pokemon after school. My childhood was not as unhealthy as it sounds, I promise.

My friend Katherine came up all the way from Brooklyn to make these cinnamon sugar pop tarts in my kitchen with me. She even brought the dough--which she made the day before--and the majority of the supplies! Fact: She is one of the few people who doesn't judge me for taking a million pictures of my food (check out her incredible instagram here). We spent the afternoon baking these pop tarts, and when they didn't come out exactly as we had planned visually (they still tasted amaze), we headed over for drinks and a very late brunch at Harlem Public.

The recipe we followed is from Smitten Kitchen and can be found here.
