Happy first week of March! March is always an exciting month for me for a few reasons: a) it contains the first official days of spring b) it is my birthday month and c) most importantly, it is hubby and my anniversary. <3 <3

I have been on the hunt for a tablet cover/case ever since I was gifted my Samsung tablet for Christmas. While there are what feels like thousands of choices for iPad users, there were not so many cute choices for the Samsung Galaxy tablets. This weekend I uncovered the sewing machine and dug around some materials to put this together. In about 30 minutes, I completed my one of a kind tablet cover in a design that fits my style!

Materials:

  • 1 piece wool felt (12" x 12") --need bigger size for iPads!
  • 2 strips leather (one cut in half)
  • sewing machine
  • scissors

Instructions: -Fold the wool felt in half and measure around tablet/iPad. Make sure there is enough space to sew (about a half inch on the sides and one inch on top). -Sew sides together. I did a zig-zag pattern.. -Cut two slits in the larger leather strip for the knots to fit through. Attach the thicker leather piece on the top. Hold in place with pins if necessary, and sew it to one side of the felt. -Grab the two smaller strips of leather, and tie knots at one end of each. Sew the non-knotted end on the other side of the felt, directly below the slits of the larger leather piece. The knots should be able to be pulled through the slits in the larger leather piece, closing the bag and protecting your tablet.
